In response to the coming age of accreditation in tertiary education, universities around the world have been setting up organizations such as “centre of excellent teaching” or “centre of teaching and learning” aimed at ensuring effective teaching and improving learning performance by emphasizing the importance of quality assurance to promote the university’s international competence.

Such a trend drove the establishment of the Teaching and Learning Resources Center (TLRC) at Ming Chuan University in September 2007. The mission of Teaching and Learning Resources Center is to complement the academic mission of the university by improving the teaching effectiveness and enhancing student learning ability through promoting a quality service environment integrating all the existing teaching and learning resources of the university.

Driven by the prospect of cultivating excellent teaching culture, shaping high quality learning atmosphere and enhancing life-long learning ability, the TLRC collaborates on projects of (1) Integration and Enhancement of Resources, (2) Development of Faculty Teaching and (3) Development of Student Learning through promoting series of events, services, guidance and programs. In this way, the TLRC helps progressively accomplish the university’s vision of achieving excellence in education to achieve the goals of promoting effective teaching via constant curriculum improvement, and developing learning ability via step-by-step strengthening of learning supports.
